
Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana - Pmay Scheme

The Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) is a flagship scheme launched by the Government of India in 2015 with the objective of providing affordable housing to the urban poor. The scheme aims to provide assistance to Economically Weaker Sections (EWS), Low Income Groups (LIG), and Middle Income Groups (MIG) to own a house by 2022.
PMAY provides credit-linked subsidy scheme (CLSS) under which beneficiaries can avail interest subsidy on home loans. The subsidy amount is based on the income category of the beneficiary, and the maximum subsidy available is up to Rs. 2.67 lakh.
The beneficiaries can construct houses themselves or hire a contractor, and the scheme is implemented by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs. As of March 2023, more than 1.12 crore houses have been sanctioned, out of which 80 lakh houses have been completed, and over 45 lakh families have already taken possession of their houses.

- On the homepage, click on the "Citizen Assessment" option from the menu.
- Choose the appropriate option - either "Slum Dwellers" or "Benefits Under 3 Components" based on your eligibility.
- Fill in the online application form with all the required information.
- Enter your 12-digit Aadhaar card number and verify your name as per Aadhaar card by clicking on the "Check" option.
